St. Simon Zelotes was one of the twelve apostel. He was a brother of James the younger and a cousin of Jesus. After the crucifiction he annunciated the Gospel in Babylonia and Persia where he suffered the martyr death together with Judas Thaddäus.
The Seven Youths hid themselves in a certain cave near Ephesus in the year 250, to escape the persecution of Decius. By divine grace, a sleep came upon them and they slept for nearly 200 years until they were found and awoke.
